Gunmen kill Pikit motorist, hurt another

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Unidentified gunmen shot dead a motorist and wounded another in Barangay Batulawan, Pikit, North Cotabato over the weekend.Ins. Sindatu Karim, Pikit town police chief, identified the victim asPers Mangansakan, 35 of Sitio Lamak, Barangay Poblacion, Pikit while injured wasRazul Amin, 26, of Barangay Fort Pikit.Karim said the victims were riding on a motorbike driven byAmir Hussien Mama Kumpa of SitioMangkampong, Barangay Batulawan heading toward Pikit.As the motorbike reached Barangay Batulawan, two gunmen riding tandem on separate motorbike and shot them from behind.Mangansakan was hit in his back while Amin sustained injuries in his arm. The motorbike driver escaped unharmed.Responding police officers recovered two empty shells for caliber 45 pistol.Motive of the incident remained unknown at this time, Karim said.
