15 hurt in Maguindanao highway mishap
SULTAN
MASTURA, Maguindanao – At least 15 persons were injured in a
vehicular accident in the national highway in Barangay Tambo here Friday
morning, DXMS-AM RAdyo Bida reported today.Chief
Insp. Wendelyn Banico, Sultan Mastura town police chief, said involved in the
highway mishap which occurred at 6:30 a.m. today were a passenger van and an
idle Isuzu Elf truck.
Banico
said initial investigation showed the van (MWE-333) was heading toward Cotabato
City when it hit a parked cargo truck loaded with copra in Barangay Tambo.
The
victims were rushed to Cotabato Regional and Medical Center and Notre Dame
Hospital, both in Cotabato City.
Police
took custody of the unidentified truck driver.Among
the injured was a fire officer assigned with the Bureau of Fire Protection in
the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BFP-ARMM).
