GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Police killed two suspected
drug personalities, one was the topmost wanted drug suspect, during
implementation of search warrants after they resisted arrest and shot it out
with lawmen in Barangay Baluan early Friday morning.

Senior Supt. Raul Supiter, Gen. Santos City police director,
said the police, backed by anti-narcotics, first swooped down into the house of
Sadat Suib in Sitio Mocsin, Barangay Baluan at 2:30 a.m.

However, Supiter said, Suib opened fire on approaching lawmen,
triggering a shootout that left Suib injured. He was rushed to the hospital but
died along the way.

Recovered from Suib’s house was a 9mm Thompson sub-machinegun
and eight sachets of shabu.

Supt. Aldrin Gonzales, speaking for police in Region 12, said
another team of law enforcers conduct raided the house of Abdullah Kallay,
alias Dulang, also in the same village.

However, Kallay opened fire on lawmen prompting them to return
fire, hitting the suspect in various parts of his body. He was rushed to the hospital
but declared dead on arrival.

Found in his home was a 12 gauge improvised shot gun, four empty
shells for 9mm pistol and five sachets of shabu.

Gonzales said the police also raided the house of Hamza Namyon
and Abdul Mamalumpong to implement the search warrants but they were not
around. No shabu or illegal items were found in their houses.

Supiter said Suib is the top most wanted drug personality of the
Gen. Santos PNP and included in PNP-12 high value target.

Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, PNP-12 regional director, said the
operation, covered by search warrants issued by Judge Noel P Oscar of RTC-11,
Branch 35 in Gen. Santos City, were all legitimate. (Edwin O. Fernandez)
