TACURONG CITY -- The local government of Tacurong City on Thursday announced it earned a record Php9.4 million during the first 30 days of 2015 in business registration, licensing and renewal of business permits, officials said.Through its prestigious and determined campaign dubbed as Business One-Stop Shop or BOSS, the month-long campaign earned Php9,467,852.11 from 1,179 business establishments.Tacurong City Mayor Lina Montilla said the feat was achieved due to the extra efforts of the Tacurong City Treasurer's Office and the business sectors in the city. This amount is already 61 percent of the LGU's Php15.5 million target collection on business taxes for the fiscal year 2015, Montilla said in a statement released by her information office.Montilla congratulated the BOSS team and also thanked the agencies that regularly join the program every year.Under the BOSS program, the process of business renewal was reduced to only two steps - submission of documentary requirements and payment. The local government agencies that partnered with Tacurong's BOSS program were Tacurong City Engineering Office, City Planning and Development Coordinating Office, City Environment and Natural Resources Office, Office for City Health Services, City Treasury Office, and City Administrator’s Office. The national government offices were Social Security System, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Bureau of Fire Protection, PNP, Department of Trade and Industry, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (Philhealth) and PagIBIG. The success of BOSS manifests businessmen’s trust in the LGU of Tacurong, she added. We have all seen the support of the business sectors in the local government of Tacurong, we can feel that they trust the city's leadership, she said.Montilla assured the taxes paid will surely benefit the taxpayers and the people of Tacurong. Rest assured..nga ang ila taxes nagakadto guid sa tama..wala ginauyangan..hindi sa pipila ka tao kundi sa mga proyekto (Rest assured your taxes will be used correctly and properly and not only few will benefit from it but all of us,)” said Montilla.
