KIDAPAWAN
CITY – A landslide at the slope of the country’s highest peak on Saturday forced
the Kidapawan City disaster team to relocate two families.

Psalmer
Bernalte, Kidapawan City disaster risk reduction and management council
officer, said the landslide occurred in Barangay Ilomavis, where a road
concreting project was on-going.

He
said relocated families’ houses were few meters away from the landslide site
and relocating them would save their lives.

It was a preemptive move, he said.

Due
to the landslide, the flow of traffic toward Lake Agco, a swimming resort, was
delayed for about three hours.

Traffic
has been restored but Bernalte reminded motorists to be careful.

Barangay
Ilomavis was included in the hazard map of DENR.
