SoCot board dismisses complaint vs. village leaders
KORONADAL CITY (Sept. 20) -- The South Cotabato
Provincial Board has dismissed the administrative case filed by a group of
senior citizens against barangay officialsof Katipunan, Sto.Nino, South
Cotabato, a provincial lawmaker Friday.
Board Member Jobelyn Baitus-Corilla saidsince
the 30-day legislative right given to the complainants have lapsed, the provincial
council upheld thedecision of
Sangguniang Bayan of Sto Nino that earlier dismissed the case.
Corilla said the complaints were officially
given the opportunity to provide more evidence to its claim but this was not
given importance, thus, the council have no recourse but to dismiss the
complant against Barangay Katipunan Chairperson Delfin Demegelio and his
council membersthree years ago.
Corilla chairs the committee on good governance
of Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
She said said because of condonation principle,
the complaint filed against the winning barangay officials are considered
dismiss.
Winning the past election means that the people
still trust these barangay officials, the case filed against them is considered
dismissbecause of condonation principle,” Corilla explained in an
interview by DXOM FM-Koronadal.
