DENR-ARMM planning chief survives ambush

COTABATO CITY (Sept. 20) – A planning officer of the
Department of Environment and Natural Resources in the Autonomous Region in
Muslim Mindanao (DENR-ARMM) on Friday night an survived assassination, police said today.Senior Inspector Reynaldo Delantin, Police Station 1
chief, said Alexar Cruz Palawan, 47, DENR-ARMM planning officer and Baharudin
Baulo, 29, also DENR-ARMM employee, were on board a KIA Avela car with license
plate GTE-454 when the ambush took place along Oblate Drive, Barangay Rosary
Heights 6, Cotabato City.
Delantin told DXMS Radyo Bida-Cotabato unidentified men
riding tandem on a motorbike fired at them at 7:40 p.m.
He said the two sustained minor injuries and are now
recuperating at a local hospital.
Motive of the attempt remained unknown. Police operatives are still investigating.Earlier in the day, unidentified gunman shot and seriously wounded a 39-year-old woman at the corner of Dorother and Don Rufino Alonzo streets, Cotabato City.Aigie Naranjo sustained a gunshot wound in her head.
