(UPDATE) Magnitude 5.2 quake hits North Cotabato anew
COTABATO CITY (Sept. 20) -- Another earthquake hit North Cotabato Saturday, the US Geological Survey said today.The magnitude 5.2 earthquake was traced 10 kilometers east southeast of Bulatukan in Makilala, North Cotabato or 30 miles (48 km) WSW of Davao, Mindanao, Philippines 53 miles (85 km) N of General Santos, Mindanao, Philippines 73 miles (117 km) ESE of Cotabato, Mindanao, Philippines 608 miles (979 km) SSE of MANILA, Philippines, according toU.S. Geological Survey.It has a depth of 11 kilometers and tectonic in origin.Intensity 4 was felt in Kidapawan City.No damages was reported but the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said aftershocks are possible.At 6:59 a.m. magnitude 4.0 tremors was recorded in Columbio, Sultan Kudarat followed by a magnitude 4 quake in Kidapawan and Makilala, North Cotabato at 7:09.At7:18 a magnitude tremor was monitored with the epicenter traced toColumbio, Sultan Kudarat followed by another tremor at 10:17 a.m.At 10:54, a mild magnitude 2.8 was recorded near Kidapawan City.
