South Cotabato jail escapee rearrested
KORONADAL CITY - An escaped inmate of South Cotabato Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center is now back behind bars. Raymnond Nerpoil, was arrested in his home in the village of Lambingi, municipality of Banga, a day after he run away from his personal guard. Felicito Gumapac, OIC provincial jail warden of South Cotabato, said after negotiating with his family, Raymund Nerpiol was picked by the provincial jail guards in the village of Lambingi, Banga, Tuesday. Nerpiol was able to escape after asking permission from Jail Officer I Noel Fernandez that he would answer the call of nature while he was to beconfined tothe South Cotabato Provicial Hospital Tuesday evening. Nerpoil facing frustrated murder charges. Because of what he did Nerpiol will not be allowed to go out of his cell, we also suspended his visitation rights,” Gumapac told DXOM FM Koronadal Wenesday. Gumapac said jail officerFernandez was asked to submit a letter of explanation to the Office of the Governor. The sanction that will be imposed to him, if ever,will depend upon the content of his explanation letter,” Gumapac said. Nerpoil was the second detainee to have escaped the the facility this year. Kayong Dasan, who remainedlarge, and a member of Fire Brigade of the detention center, escaped from the jail guards after gathering fire woods in the Municipality of Banga, last October.
