PWDs benefit from programs of Maguindanao provincial government
MAGUINDANAO --- Hundreds of persons with disabilities benefitted from the humanitarian support extended by the Maguindanao provincial government during the July 18-19 summit in Buluan town.The two-day PWD summit was organized by the office of Maguindanao Gov. Esmael Mangudadatu, a benefactor of key programs promoting the welfare of local residents with physical disabilities.The event was capped off with dialogues on all pro-PWD projects of the provincial government and the distribution of wheelchairs, walkers and other mobility support devices to participants.The summit was facilitated by personnel of the provincial government led by Lynette Estandarte, who is Mangudadatu’s chief budget staff.Estandarte is also helping the governor oversee the operation of the provincial government’s disaster mitigation and relief contingent and its emergency response unit, the multi-awarded People’s Medical Team.More than 200 PWDs from across Maguindanao’s 36 towns participated in the two day gathering.Some of them recommended certain programs meant to boost their productivity that Mangudadatu assured to focus his attention on.Miguel Antonio Limon, regional programs coordinator of the National Council on Disability Affairs, was one of the speakers in the event, held at the municipal gymnasium of Buluan, capital town of Maguindanao.He acknowledged the efforts of the Mangudadatu administration in serving its constituent-PWDs through socio-economic and other humanitarian interventions.
