KORONADAL CITY - Police authorities here said that the slain Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-12) official was in the police illegal drug watch list.Supt. Barney Condes, Koronadal City PNP, told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida that Dungca may have been silenced by personalities involved in illegal drug trade.He said before the official was gunned down on Monday, the Koronadal City PNP was to conduct illegal drug buy bust operations against the DENR official.Dungca, 54, single and DENR-12 regional program coordinator, driving his motorbike with license plate MA-38874 heading for home at 9:30 a.m. when two men riding on separate motorbike opened fire on him near San Antonio Subdivision, Barangay Sta Cruz, Koronadal City.As to who really killed Dungca, Condes said the police are still investigating.Messages of sympathy for the slain official poured in thesocial media, many of whom expressed disbelief.
