Lawyer shot dead in Bukidnon

MALAYBALAY CITY – Unidentified gunmen shot and killed a lawyer on his way to a hearing in here Tuesday morning, police said.Supt. Henry G. Dampal, Malaybalay police chief, said that Atty. Pepito C. Suello died while undergoing treatment in the city hospital here.The state runPhilippine News Agency (PNA) quoted police initial investigation as sayingthat Suello was driving his car, together with two other companions, one a certain Atty Damasco, when the shooting took place. We are still looking into the identity of the suspects, the motive and how the shooting was carried out,” Dampal said.He said that the police are also looking into the possibility that Suello or his companions were able to fire back due to empty shells found in his car.Dampal said that family members have reported that Suello have been receiving death threats.
