KORONADAL CITY -- The people of Koronadal and neighboring places need not go far to beat the summer heat. Located just less than 11 kilometers away from the city proper is the sub-village of Si-ok in barangay Mabini, a place of incredible waterfalls.
With its lush vegetation, and beautiful rock formation, Si-ok offers a great eco-adventure destination for nature enthusiasts.
The most popular and accessible among the waterfalls in the area is the Kawa Falls that looks like a huge cauldron or Kawa to the locals. This small cascade of cool water is perfect alternative to the beach.
Next to the Kawa Falls is the Si-ok Falls. It can be reached through 30 minutes of river trekking. Its water cascading through black rock formation is picture perfect.
Trekkers looking for extreme adventure can climb the 40-feet high Si-ok Falls to reach the third Falls hidden in huge rocks. Fifteen minutes of passing and scaling the huge rock formation to get there is quite a challenge for the beginners.
Judy Ann Vallespen, a tourist from General Santos City describes her Si-ok adventure as nature at its best.
The nature of Si-ok can be enjoyed for a minimal pay of P25, reaching the place will take less than 30 minutes of tricycle or habal habal motorcycle ride from the city proper.
For the their safety, trekkers are required to register at the entrance and pass by the briefing area. sand//scontent.fcgy1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/30440761_10212394103668510_2140666847706480640_n.jpg?_nc_cat=0andamp_nc_eui2=v1%3AAeHP2wggfniHRnq83vfzppLN4A8QMdWmOv3vMCNMQyGyVTPG9wMXtJK6z_0L0OsKEJ8EW2HnDF921qTJjViiQWjUCBBLFlB7YXPq2Zrhe4orpQandampoh=a15b253fa7b26424fcaed62c2e2f9364andampoe=5B6EC34A
