Honest man returns wallet with P15,000 cash, gets recognition
MAKILALA, North Cotabato - An honest employee of the local government of Makilala, North Cotabato was awarded for returning a wallet containing P15,000 cash.Mayor Rudy Caoagdan commended Allan Javines, 43 years old from Sitio Patulangon, Barangay Malasila for his honesty in returning the wallet that he found together with a friend at the comfort room of the Rural Health Unit office here. Javines has been a driver of the Local Government Unit of Makilala for the past seven months assigned to Mayor Caoagdan. Allan” as commonly called by friends have six kids, and four of them are still studying with two in college, one in High School and the other one in the elementary, while his housewife is also managing a small family business of hollow block making factory.He waswith his friend Mrs. Em-Em Quiao whenthey found the wallet inside the RHU comfort roomwithout identification. He reported and turned over the wallet to the local police and learned it contained Php15,530.Allan and his friend could have kept the money to finance family monetary needs but did otherwise, thinking the owner needs the money more than they both do.Mayor Caoagdan further said that what Mr. Javines did was noteworthy and admirable. Headded that the act of Javines demonstrated a good example of what is expected as an employee of Makilala.
