Gunmen kill 2 farmers in Lanao Sur ambush

PENDATUN, Maguindanao – Two were killed in an ambush in Pualas,
Lanao del Sur Sunday night, police in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao
(ARMM) today said.
Chief Supt.
Graciano Mijares, police regional director for ARMM, identified the victims as Jabber
Tanog, 37 and Abdul Saripada, 31, both residents of Barangay Notong.
Citing report
from Pualas town police office, Mijares said the slain victims and Aladin
Abdulla, all farmers and armed, were walking in Barangay Yaran going to
Barangay Notong at 8:30 p.m. when they were fired upon by gunmen, triggering a
shootout. Abdulla managed to escape unharmed.
The gunmen were
led by a certain Saidamen Balindong, Mijares said, quoting a police report.
Mijares
believed a long-standing rido (family feud) triggered the shootout.
