Bomb experts scour Gen. Santos Rizal monument

KORONADAL CITY
(Sept. 20) – One of the nine victims of a bomb explosion in Gen. Santos City on
Tuesday has passed away, police and hospital officials said.

Magnanao, 17, a first year student of AMA Computer and Learning Center, died at
the intensive care unit of the St. Elizabeth Hospital Friday dawn.

Magnanao was
among the nine persons who were near the Rizal Monument at Gen. Santos City
oval plaza when unidentified men detonated an improvised explosive device.

Police and
military authorities blamed the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) as
behind the bombing.

Following the
incident, police and military authorities have been placed on heightened alert
in the region.
