DOST Halal initiatives presented in Japan

COTABATO CITY
(Sept. 19) – The halal initiatives by the Department of Science and Technology
in Region-12 take center stage in the recentJapan Halal Summit in Tokyo.

Dr. Zenaida
Laidan, DOST-12 regional director, was invited by Halal Development Foundation
of Japan Incorporated as one of the speakers during the summit.

Laidan
presented the Halal initiatives in the Philippines and in Mindanao that the
Japanese government took notice and proposed to replicate the program.

She said the
opportunity given her also opened doors for halal products from the Philippine
to enter Japan’s halal markets. (NDBC)
