DOLE 12 grants 12 million worth of goods
KORONADAL CITY (Sept. 5/NDBC) --TheDepartment of Labor and Employment (DOLE)in the SOCCSKSARGEN region has donated P12 million worth of livelihood starter kits through itsIntegrated
Livelihood and Emergency Employment Programs (DILEEP) to different areas in the
region.A ceremonial turn-over was held in Koronadal City Friday.
Ofelia Domingo, DOLE-12told reportersthe recipients
were self-employed individuals who have below the poverty line incomes, marginalized
sectors, tenants, parents of child laborers, low-wage and seasonal workers, and
people affected by different calamities.The livelihood starter kits were received by representatives from
different cooperatives in the region, includingfamilies of members of the Impaired
Massage Assocation, Notre Dame of Dadiangas University Employees Association, Antipas
Banana Workers Cooperative, San Vicente Academy Educational Service
Cooperative, Adventures Multi Purpose Cooperative, City Government of Cotabato
LGU-Maasim, LGU - Pigkawayan, LGU- Mlang, LGU-Kidapawan, LGU-Kabacan, LGU-
Isulan, and PLGU- Sultan Kudarat.
The goods included in the starter kits
were NegoKart, Massage Therapic Clinic, rice trading, motor parts and
servicing, brassware making, fish buy and sell, and consumer goods and
services.
DILEEP aims to manage poverty through
the distribution of goods to the marginalized sectors and to help them to start
anew.
