Cotabato City PESO holds 1st jobs fair for 2018
COTABATO CITY --Seeking to further increase the level of employment in the city, the Cotabato City Public Employment Services Office
(PESO) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) conducted a one-day
jobs fair at the ground floor of the People’s Palace (City Hall) on Monday, the first in a series this year.
Munfarid Tubojan, city public employment
manager, said 14 local agencies participated in the activity. Among them City
Mall, Puregold, Citi Hardware, Centro, Lamsan Incorporated, Alnor, Build Right
Hardware, Notre Dame University, and STI Cotabato.
Fast food restaurants McDonald’s and
Jolibee also joined, along with invited overseas agencies like SMC Placement
Agency, MDSI, Placewell International, and call center Six Eleven Global
Services.
Tubojan said the number of applicants
was not as many as in previous year since the demand for manpower is not so
high during the first quarter of the year.
They had no less than 700 hired
applicants in each of the previous jobs fairs, he said.
There were 109 male applicants and 122
female applicants who joined Monday’s jobs fair, Tubujan said, adding they were
still consolidating the reports from the different employers on the number of
hired applicants.
Tubojan said that City PESO conducts the
jobs fairs quarterly and they are looking forward to another one in March.
