Childless couples show interest on Polomolok abandoned baby
POLOMOLOK, South Cotabato - Several persons, including childless couples, have shown interest to adopt an abandoned new born baby here after the child was rescued Tuesday.Some even went to DXOM-AM Radyo Bida studio along Gen. Santos Drive, Koronadal Cityto express interest in adopting the child left unattended by his unidentified mother along Molo Adelfa Street, Barangay Poblacion, Polomolok, South Cotabato.The child, kept inside a cellophane (sando) bag and hidden in the bush, was found by joggers at past 5 a.m. He isnow under the custody of Municipal Social Welfare Office.Police said those who are interested on the child who many believed was destined to survive despite her mother' act may visit the town DSWD office.Two teenage women brought the child to the police office and eventually to the Polomolok Municipal Hospital.In tears, they told police they pity the child when they found him in a life-threatening situation.Unofficially, the two women named him Karl Michael. Child adoption requires legal process through the DSWD.Many listeners of Radyo Bida also sent text messages expressing interest on the child, others cursed the mother while others offered to extend whatever assistance they can provide.
