ARMM cabinet members submit courtesy resignation

COTABATO CITY – Some cabinet officials
in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) have started submitting
courtesy resignation to Governor-elect Mujiv Hataman.
Lawyer Laisa Alamia, ARMM executive secretary, was
first to submit her courtesy resignation papers to Hataman who was reelected
for his second term as regional chief executive of five province ARMM.
Citing ARMM Memorandum No. 215, Alamia said all
cabinet secretaries, assistant secretaries and bureau heads of ARMM line
agencies are expected to submit courtesy resignation before May 30.
The office of regional secretary, assistant
secretary and bureau chiefs are positions of trust and confidence of the appointing
authority and in the case of ARMM, Gov. Hataman was the appointing authority.
Alamia was among the first to submit courtesy resignation
papers along with ARMM Chief of Staff Rasul Mitmug and Health Secretary Dr.
Kadil Sinolinding Jr.
This is to allow Gov. Hataman to freely choose his
new cabinet members to accompany him in serving the people of ARMM,” Alamia ABS-CBN TV patrol program.
When Hataman was first named as caretaker regional
governor which eventually earned him the moniker as ghost buster,” he
appointed cabinet members who effectively carried out his platform of
government.
Upon his election in 2013, Hataman replaced some cabinet
officials while retaining others who have performed more than what was expected
of them.
After he takes his
oath of office on June 30, Hataman will name his new official family.” As in
2013, Hataman formed selection committee with specific directives to only
recommend the best and the brightest” base on qualifications and not on padrino.”
