2 die in crash along Maguindanao-N. Cotabato road

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Two motorists were killed when their motorbike rammed a passenger van while traversing the Maguindanao-North Cotabato highway, 2 p.m., Tuesday, police reports said.Inspector Rasul Pandulo, chief of the Datu Montawal municipal police station, identified the slain victims as Blah Sinolinding, 29, driver of the Honda Beat motorcycle and Aiza Masual, 24, both residents of Poblacion, Datu Montawal in Maguindanao.Pandulo, citing witnesses, said the motorcycle driven by Sinolinding was speeding too fast when it overtook a vehicle but failed to see a Toyota D4D passenger van from opposite direction. It was too late for Sinolinding to avoid the crash because he was speeding so fast that was why he rammed into the van and flew literally and landed on the cemented floor few meters away from the site, said the police officer.Sinolinding and his passenger were rushed to a hospital in nearby Kabacan, North Cotabato but were declared dead upon arrival by the attending physician.Pandulo identified the van driver as Nick Barcelo, 36, of Barangay Limbo, Sultan Kudarat in Maguindanao.The van has already been placed under the custody of the Datu Montawal PNP while police is readying charges of reckless imprudence resulting to double homicide against the van driver, according to Pandulo.
