WHO raises alarm over slow vaccination of seniors in some LGUs

MANILA - The World Health Organization (WHO) Philippines alerted today the sluggish COVID-19 vaccination rate among senior citizens in some LGUs. The slow rollout among senior citizens leaves the Philippines vulnerable to its hospitals being overwhelmed due to severe cases among the elderly, and possibly higher deaths due to a surge in cases from the fast-spreading Delta variant confirmed to be locally transmitted.

More vaccines vs. COVID-19 arrive for Region 12

COTABATO CITY - The vaccination rollout, especially in far flung communities in the Soccsksargen region, is expected to go full swing with the arrival of more vaccines against COVID-19.

On Saturday, the Department of Health-Center for Health Development Soccsksargen Region received  a total of 108,800 vials of Sinovac vaccine for the remaining individuals under A1 to A3 priority groups in the region.

6 MILF camps receive medical supplies from MOH

Health workers of Maguindanao pose after dispersal of medical facilities to MILF camps

COTABATO CITY — Health facilities inside the six recognized camps of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) have received medical supplies from the Bangsamoro Government through the Ministry of Health (MOH) in a series of turnover ceremonies this week.

MOH Minister Dr. Bashary Latiph led the turnover of medical supplies and devices to camps in Maguindanao that include Camp Rajamuda in General Salipada K. Pendatun and Camp Abubakar in Barira on Thursday, July 29, and in Camp Badr in Guindulungan and Camp Omar in Datu Hoffer on Wednesday, July 28.
