Sarangani ARBs get farm equipment, machinery
GEN. SANTOS CITY – Close to 500 agrarian reform beneficiaries in Sarangani province are expected to increase farm production after the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) distributed farm machinery and equipment.
One of the beneficiaries was all praised to the program after his group received the postharvest facilities.
“Salamat gyud sa DAR sap ag suporta sa among mga mangunguma paagi sa paghatag nila ug mg ekwipo,” Benjamin Campaan, president of Big Margus and Cross Irrigators Association (IA) in Glan, Sarangani.
The ARBs have received equipment like mobile rice mill, power tiller, rice thresher, hand tractor and corn sheller.
Among the groups that receive the intervention were Big Margus and Cross IA, Tolentino Communal IA in the town of Glan, Badtasan Farmers’ IA in Kiamba, Blat Farmers Association in Maasim and Biangan IA in Malungon.
“Kani nga proyekto mga mokantidad sa P2 million isip tabang kini alang sa mga lugar nga dali ra ma-apektuhan sa mga kalamidad gumikan sa Climate Change (These equipment aims to help farmers in areas vulnerable to calamity as a result of climate change),” PARPO II Felix C. Frias said.
The dispersal was part of the DAR-Sarangani Climate Resilience Farm Productivity Support Program.
After the distribution of farm equipment and machinery, DAR Sarangani conducted information and education drive to help farmers become more productive and sustain the government intervention to ARBs, according to ARBDSP Chief John H. Gamad. (Daniel Perez/Agnes Torino -DAR)
