COTABATO CITY - The project proposals for the Convergence on Livelihood Assistance for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Project (CLAAP) were evaluated and assessed during the deliberation on June 6-7, 2019 at Eighty Eight Hotel, Koronadal City.

CLAAP focal persons from North Cotabato, Sarangani, South Cotabato, and Sultan Kudarat presented a total of 64 proposals to CLAAP coordinators from DAR central office.

These proposals were meticulously reviewed by CLAAP coordinators headed by Ar-Rafi Sulani and representatives from both regional offices of Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR-12) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD 12).

After a rigid review of the proposals and after considering its viability during the 2-day activity, the body agreed to approve all proposals amounting to P42 million on the condition that they comply with some of the requirements that were not available as of evaluation time.

Since the proposals have already hurdled the review and evaluation, the DAR 12 regional office will endorse the proposals to the Central Project Management Unit (CPMU) of the CLAAP for the downloading of funds.

Some of the proposals were about livelihood programs such as “Backyard Swine Raising,” “Cattle Dispersal,” “Goat Dairy Farming,” and “Agricultural Inputs Marketing.”

H. Roldan A. Ali, DAR-12 assistant regional director administration and support services, said he was highly optimistic the proposals will get green light from central office.

The CLAAP is a joint-collaboration of DAR and DSWD to expand and increase the income of farmers’ through livelihood projects and interventions.
