CORDS for Region 12 meets Army, PNP to ensure peaceful polls
KIDAPAWAN CITY – Agriculture Sec. Emmanuel Piñol, President Duterte’s Cabinet Officer for Regional Development and Security (CORDS) for Region 12 met with Saturday with police and military officials and relayed to them the President’s marching orders for May 13 polls.
“I relayed to them the directive President Rody Duterte to address vote buying and political terrorism so the people will be able to freely choose their leaders,” Piñol said in a statement after meeting with election stakeholders here.
As CORDS for Soccsksargen region, Piñol met with Police Brig. Gen. Eliseo Tam Rasco, police regional director for Region 12 and Army Brig. Gen. Jose Gongona of the 602nd Infantry Brigade.
Also in attendance were police provincial directors. “All is set and ready for Halalan 2019 in Soccsksargen region,” Piñol said.
Piñol said there should be no vote buying and terrorism in the coming elections.
“No vote buying and no to terrorism,” is the slogan, he said.
Region 12 or Soccsksargen region is composed of the provinces of North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and the cities of Cotabato, Kidapawan, Tacurong, Koronadal and Gen. Santos.
