Week-long police campaign nets 139 wanted persons

KIDAPAWAN CITY – Complying the directive from Police Regional Office (PRO-12),
police authorities in (North) Cotabato conducted from April 23 to 29 the Oplan
Huli Week 2018, a weekly police law enforcement operations and anti-crime
activities in the province that led to the arrest of 139 persons.

Senior Supt.
Maximo Cawas Layugan, North Cotabato police provincial director, said police
personnel from the provincial office, the Provincial Mobile Force Company and
personnel from different municipal police stations jointly conducted warrant
implementation and operation Kapkap bakal, a police campaign against loose
firearms.

Week, aims to arrest all wanted persons in the province.

As result, 139
individuals with different offenses have been arrested in North Cotabato’s 17
towns and one city.

He did not say how many wanted men remained at large.Layugan said
of the 139 arrested persons, eight were listed as most wanted persons, 95
wanted persons and 36 were arrested without warrant of arrest for they were
caught in act of committing a crime or in possession of contraband and illegal
items.

Kidapawan City
had the most number of arrested persons with 35 individuals, followed by
Midsayap and Pigcawayan with 12 each and Kabacan with 11.

WEEK is the brain-child of Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales, PRO-12 regional
director.

Layugan said (North)
Cotabato, having the most number of arrests, was applauded by Morales for the
successful conduct of the law enforcement. Morales urged other police
provincial and municipal offices to intensify drive and arrest all wanted
persons and prevent all forms all criminality in the province. (Edwin O.
