Internet cafe attendant nabbed for online drug peddling

KORONADAL CITY –- An internet cafe attendant who uses internet in peddling illegal drugs was arrested by agents of the Koronadal City anti-drug abuse council and the local police early Tuesday morning.Dr. Glorio Sandig, CADAC action officer, said Dandave Sumalpong, 30 of Rizal Street, Barangay Zone 4 was arrested during buy bust operation at 12:15 a.m. Seized from Sumalpong were three small sachets and one big sachets of suspected shabu, an ATM card, sling bag, one motorbike and the marked money used in the buy bust.Sandig said Sumalpong has been included in the CADAC watch list but authorities had difficulty getting him since he was using the internet in his drug peddling and using commercial money courier for payment.Barangay Zone 4 chairperson Eleonor Borje the village government will continue supporting CADAC in the campaign against illegal drugs.Sumalpong faces charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002).On Sunday, CADAC operatives backed by the city police arrested in Sitio Angeles, Barangay Saravia,David V. Mirador, Elizabeth T. Angeles, 39 and Beverly Banti Cantoc, 25, during drug buy bust operation.Two others managed to elude arrest. Seized from arrested suspects were four sachets of suspected shabu, disposable lighter and a hand grenade. Barangay Saravia Chairperson Gregorio Presga said the trio had been placed under surveillance by barangay watchmen after they were told they peddle drugs in the village.It took sometime for law enforcers to enter the suspects hideout due to a hand grenade planted at its main door.
