Philanthropist builds CPAC to secure birthplace from crimes

ESPERANZA, Sultan Kudarat – A philanthropist who
wanted to make her town peaceful and progressive has built a building to be
used by law enforcers as Community Police Assistance Center (CPAC).
The building, inaugurated and officially turned over
to the Esparanza Police Office, was put up at the town’s public market to
ensure safety of market goers.
This is my way of helping my community, I was born
here, I grew up here and I believed I have to go back here to help, Lalaine
Villaruel Suhanda, president and CEO of Metrovi Group of Companies, Promarigold
Corporation and Tierra Montana Hotel in Gen. Santos City.
Villaruel-Suhanda is a member of the PRO-12 Regional
Advisory Council (RAC-12). She handed
over the structure to Senior Supt. Johnson Almazan, deputy regional director
for operations of PRO-12, during ceremonies held Tuesday and attended by Sultan
Kudarat Gov. Pax Mangudadatu and Senior Supt. Raul Supiter, police provincial director.
She said with the CPAC which will operate on a
24-hour basis will serve as crime deterrent and a place where beleaguered
residents would come to seek police assistance.
Villaruel-Suhanda said the project is in support to
the PNP PATROL Plan 2030.
Villaruel-Suhanda has been a regular and constant provider
to PRO-12, particularly in the financial aspect of the construction of several
projects such as the renovation of St Michael the Archangel Chapel, the
construction of Makatarungan Hall, and the PRO12 Memorial Park, said Chief
Inspector Aldrin Gonzales, PRO-12 Public Information Office chief.
Gonzales said the philanthropist has lined-up
various activities to be implemented by RAC-12 like he upcoming such as the
upcoming medical mission on Feb. 18 which will coincide with the Feast of Our
Lady of Hope in Esperanza and other community outreached programs.
She said it’s her way of giving back the needed help
to her native town where she grew up and took her primary and secondary
education and to thank God for blessings she received.
Work with dignity and heroism to fulfill the need
of the community, Villaruel-Suhanda advised police officers during the
program.
