Villager hurt in grenade blast in North Cotabato town

NORTH COTABATO --- A villager was injured in an explosion that ripped through a residential area in Pikit town in North Cotabato before dawn Friday.Esmael Guialel, who sustained shrapnel wounds in different parts of his body, was rushed to a hospital by responding barangay officials and personnel of the Pikit municipal police.Investigators said a man on a motorcycle hurled a fragmentation grenade at the house of Guialel in the town proper of Pikit and sped away as the explosive went off.Superintendent Bernard Tayong, spokesman of the North Cotabato provincial police office, said probers are yet to identify the bombers and their motive for the attack.
