DOT-12 to capacitate tourism major players

KORONADAL CITY
– The Department of Tourism (DOT-12) is providing skills training for the rest
of 2017 for capacitate major stakeholders in the regional tourism industry,
Director Nelly Nita Dillera today said.

Dillera said empowering
and capacitating the stakeholders will improve the industry and make the region
better and safe tourist destination.Dot has set aside P5 million for the project, Dillera said.

Among the
training programs DOT-12 is pushing include capacitating the workers in the
front office and reception of hotels and restaurants, customer relations,
restaurant services, food preparation, sanitation and preparation, events
management, incentivized functions, business planning, experiential tours, community-based
tourism, community culinary, managing tourism establishments, tour packaging,
among others.

Dillera said workers
and personnel of establishment duly accredited by DOT are given priority in training
and seminars.
