Man survives murder attempt and jailed, how come?

COTABATO CITY -- A 40-year-old man who survived a murder attempt ended up in jail in Sultan Mastura, Maguindanao, police said.Farmer Ali Alongan of Barangay Solon, Sultan Mastura showed up at the town police office to put on record the murder attempt against him and his son Wednesday.He wanted to put into police blotter the attempt on his life and his son's hours earlier after two men armed with Armalite rifle opened fire on them.Alongan and his son Hissam survived but he sustained minor bullet injuries,Chief Inspector Noel dela Cruz, Sultan Mastura town police chief. The son escaped unhurt.Dela Cruz said while Alongan was narrating his story, police found out he has a standing warrant of arrest issued by Judge Bansawan Ibrahim of RTC-12 Judicial Region.He is now detained at Sultan Mastura police lock up cell while investigation on the frustrated murder against Alongan continues.
