New cops in Region 12 reminded of duties, responsibilities

KORONADAL CITY –- Police Chief Supt. Cedrick Train, police regional
director for Region 12, has reminded new police officers who will serve in
various police offices across Region 12 of their duties as responsibilities as
protector of the people, a police spokesperson today said.
Your
PNP badge symbolizes legal authority and responsibility that is to uphold the
law with fairness and justice, Chief Supt. Train told 489 newly graduated
police officers during the oath taking and graduation and badge of honor
ceremonies held at Police Regional Office (PRO-12) in Gen. Santos City.Supt.
Romeo Galgo Jr, spokesperson of PRO-12, said the graduates composed of 378
males and 111 female cops also took their oath before the PNP Badge of Honor.Galgo
said Chief Supt. Train also reminded the new member of police organizations of
PNP standard of morality and professionalism. You
must always keep a high standard of morality and professionalism, and enliven
the spirit of PNP core values and that is Makadiyos (God-fearing), Makabayan
(Nationalilstic), Makatao (Humane), Makakalikasan (Environment-Friendly)
wherever your sworn duty may lead you, Galgo quoted Train as telling the
troops.Galgo
explained that PNP Badge of Honor was created to instill in the heart of all
uniformed personnel the honor and pride that comes with the wearing of the
police badge and to remind them of their primary duties that is to serve and
protect the people with zealousness and to uphold the law at all times.
The
new cops swore to maintain, uphold and hold dear to their heart the Badge of
Honor of the PNP and will faithfully perform to the best of their ability to
serve and protect the people to which they have been mandated.
It carries
symbols and significance and it does not serve as a mere decoration to the
PNP’s uniform.
The
ceremony also means a renewal, revitalizing and re-strengthening the PNP sworn
duties and dedication to God, Country and People and it makes the police
officers worthy of the calling and to be called honorable.
Galgo
said the police are expected to serve and protect the people from whom they
derived their power and authority to enforce the laws of the land without fear
or favor. They are in-charge to look after the general welfare of the people
and ensure that peace and order is maintained at all times and act as the
protector of the weak, defender of the innocent and advocate of human rights.

the graduation rites, the Regional Training Center l2 and Regional Special Training
Unit 12 conferred Medalya Ng Kasanayan (PNP Efficiency Medal) to the top three
gradutes. They are PO1 Noel Bien Tayong Noble(1st), PO1 Jim Shaun Manval Oranda
(2nd), and PO1 Jonathan Pino Devera(3rd).

Efren Garcia Bolivar Jr., class president, and PO1 Jeffrey Remarata Villarosa,
the class marcher were conferred Leadership Award.
The
489 newly graduated cops will still undergo Basic Internal Security Operation
Course (BISOC) and Special Counter-insurgency Operation Unit Training (SCOUT)
Course.
