3 motorists die in road mishap in North Cotabato

PIGCAWAYAN, North Cotabato – Three motorists were killed while another was seriously injured when they collide with a cargo truck along the national highway here at about 1 a.m.Police Insp. Ricardo Carbonell, Pigcawayan town deputy police chief, identified the victims as Ronilo Librado, Kaycee John Lorenzo and Michael Egaran. Seriously injured was Eragan’s brother Raymund.Carbonell said the victims were heading for home in Barangay Poblacion from a beer house and were under the influence of liquor when they collide with a cargo truck driven by Ronilo Dapitan.Dapitan told police that he saw the four victims on board a speeding motorcycle moving on his lane.He tried to avoid the motorbike but it was too late as it smashed his truck’s front bumper.The driver voluntarily surrendered to the police but Carbonell said an amicable settlement was reached between him and the victims’ families.
