COTABATO CITY -- Thousands of Cotabatenios from various sectors joined this morning's ‘Run for Drug Free Cotabato City.’The activity, initiated by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Cotabato City MayorFrancesCynthia Guiani-Sayadi, was supported by the different sectors like the law enforcement, academe, women, youth, and the private. Maii Satol Ibrahim, city information chief, said the fun run was aimed to promote health and wellness among Cotabateños, aside from its call to end the use of illegal drugs in the city. Guiani-Sayadisaid the fight against illegal drugs and other forms of criminalities will continue in the city for the sake of the future of the young Cotabateños. I believe that the use of illegal drugs is the root of all crimes, which is why the police and I will not stop to run after its users and sellers, Sayadi, a lawyer, said.She added a drug free city can lead to a crime free city .
