COTABATO CITY -- The Cotabato City Office on Health Services has recognized the agency’s nurses and midwives who
worked hard and gave their best to their work last 2016.

The
awards were given to the health personnel who achieved the highest percentage of
achievements in the implementation of OHS’s programs such as Safe Motherhood,
Family Planning, Expanded Program of Immunization and the National Tuberculosis
Program.

Known as front line health providers of the city, the nurses and midwives provide proper and adequate health care to the people in the different
barangays of the city.

According to Dr. Suher Guinomla-Ibrahim,
city health officer in-charge, recognizing the efforts of the health workers
will inspire them to improve their work more and continue to serve the
citizens of Cotabato.

It really means a lot to them when we
recognize their efforts. It is enough for them that they are being appreciated
for what they do, Ibrahim said.

Cotabato City’s Poblacion 5 was also
recognized for receiving the Regional Sandugo Awards. This award is given to
communities where at least one percent of the total population donated blood in the mobile
blood donation conducted last year in the barangays. Jehann Christie S. Andal/NDU BA-Comm
