Aid from Davao distributed to Montawal flood victims
DATU MONTAWAL, Maguindanao - Disaster workers in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) today distributed food packs donated by Davao City government to families affected by flash floods here last week. Myrna Jo Henry, speaking for the ARMM Humanitarian Emergency Action Response Team (HEART), said the food packs dispersal was spearheaded by ARMM Vice Gov.HarounAlrashid AlontoLucmanJr, currently ARMM social welfare secretary and ARMM-HEART executive director Ramil Masukat.Almost all the 12 barangays of Datu Montawal were submerged by flood waters when the Kabacan river that is connected to Pulangi River in Bukidnon overflowed due to low pressure area that brought light to moderate rains.On Saturday last week, the Davao City government delivered about 5,000 food packs to ARMM compound in Cotabato City.
