Armyand Normalcy restored in Sultan Sumagca (Talitay), OIC assumes top post

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao– The peace and order situation in Sultan Sumagca (formerly Talitay), Maguindanao was officially restored at around 11:30 in on Tuesday (November 22), after an acting mayor was designated by government authorities.The restoration of normalcy in Sultan Sumagca came after a series of joint police military operations aimed at neutralizing Mayor Montassir Sabal tagged by President Duterte as among the narco-politician. sand//scontent.fmnl4-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t34.0-12/15139565_424673894588032_1410109198_n.jpg?oh=d85b311cc28b80aed12af1e8c7b7d0bcandampoe=5836DE44 Town Councilor Kamid Buisan, the first town councilor based on the number of votes garnered during the last elections, was installed by Maysom Mokamad, municipal interior and local government officer.His installation as caretaker of Sultan Sumagca after Mayor Sabal has not been reporting for work for more than two months and Vice Mayor Abdul Wahab was arrested for illegal possession of firearms and explosives.The mayor was described by the military as most dreaded armed drug syndicate in Central Mindanao. Lt. Colonel Markton Abo, speaking for the 6th Infantry Division, said in a statement that the joint Army, police and anti-narcotics agents operation against the suspects on Friday wasmeant to paralyze the drug operations in Mindanao and dismantle this drug syndicate and remove the huge supply of drugs circulating in the area.
