Mendoza to young leadersand Be vigilant, service-oriented

KIDAPAWAN
CITY Sept. 26 (PNA) – North Cotabato Governor Emmylou Mendoza on Thursday
urged the young student leaders to do what is expected of them as today’s leaders
– vigilant and service-oriented.

Mendoza made
the appeal on two separate occasions where she was the guest of honor and
speaker.
She
first spoke in front of more than 1,000 elementary pupils as keynote speaker
during the opening of 6th Division Supreme Children and Advisers Leadership
Training Work Camp (DSCALTRW) in Pigcawayan Central Elementary School (PCES),
Pigcawayan.She
told the students that she was once like them before, a budding student leader
with a vision.
As
student leaders, you must be aware of your potentials and always do your best
to lead and serve the community”, Mendoza said.
I
was once like you in many ways, young and full of visions to serve the people,”
the governor. She inspired the youth participants to continue to do good,
perform well today as they will become tomorrow’s leaders.
She lauded
the Department of Education Cotabato Schools Division for coming up with
constructive training for students which will teach them to become role model
citizens in the future.
After
her visit at the PCES, Mendoza proceeded to Carmen High School at Carmen,
Cotabato and gave an inspirational message at the opening program of the
Division Youth Science Quest 2014.
An
estimated 4,000 high school students of public and private schools from all
over Cotabato gathered at the activity which aims to advance the knowledge and
understanding of Science among students through various activities.
The
guest speaker of the program’s opening was no less than the National President
of Association of Science Educators of the Philippines (ASEAP) Fruit R. Godoy.Speaking
to students, Mendoza said she was very delighted to see many high school
students engaging themselves in a worthwhile activity like the Division Youth
Science Quest 2014.
She
further challenged every participant to give their best in the competitions of
the activity which include Science Quiz, Sci-Dama, Science Fair, On the Spot
Painting, Dance and other competitions.
She also
inspired the students to become role models of their generation and become
quality leaders in the days to come.
