Flash floods hit Bagumbayan town

COTABATO CITY
(Sept. 25) -- At least 60 families fled their homes when flash floods hit
Bagumbayan town in Sultan Kudarat, the Sultan Kudarat Disaster Risk Reduction
and Management Council (PDRRM) reported today.

The PDRRMC
said a two-hour heavy to moderate rains triggered flash floods from 5 p.m. Landslides were also occurred in Barangay Masiag butno casualty was reported.Bagumbayan is about 120 kilometers south of Cotabato City or about two hour drive.Sunday and up to 1 p.m. Monday.

Water level
reached as high as chest-deep in the villages of Biwang, Masiag, Sumilil and
Kabulanan in Bagumbayan.

Barangay
Masiag reported it had 17 families affected and fled to a temporary evacuation
site while 44 families from Barangay Sumilil fled to a public school overnight
and retuned home the next day when flood water was gone.
