PNPand Shabu in Davao region from Maguindanao, SK
KIDAPAWAN CITY
(Sept. 8) – The proliferation of illegal drugs in the Davao region was traced
to suspected drug pushers and couriers from Sultan Kudarat and Maguindanao.
This after
anti-narcotics agents in Digos City arrested over the weekend five persons with
P.9 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, also known as shabu,”
during a buy bust operation in Barangay Tres de Mayo.
The operation
resulted in the capture of five individuals namelyand Rosemarie Castro Baran,
resident of Purok Liwayway, Barangay San Pablo, Tacurong City Gabby Nawal Lumambas and Salahudin Lumanda
Salaman, both residents of Barangay Sepaka, Datu Paglas, Maguindanao and
Guiamaludin Pasawilan Adam and wife Camaria Guiapar Adam, both residents of Barangay
New Isabela, Tacurong City.
Police said
they have been under surveillance for about eight months before last week’s
raid.
The raiding
team seized about P525,000 worth of shabu and three handguns, two mobile phones
that contained shabu clients, a motorcycle and a van. One of the suspects
managed to elude arrest.
Digos City
Mayor Joseph Penas was quoted as telling reporters that his city was
strategically located and gateway to Davao City thus it served as jumping point
for illegal drugs distribution.
Senior Supt.
Michael John Dubria, provincial police director, believed a big-time syndicate
was operating in the North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Maguindanao provinces
which supplies prohibited drugs to Davao because they could not operate in
Davao City. (NDBC)
