Gunman shoots, hurts Koronadal hardware owner

KORONADAL CITY – Unidentified gunman shot and seriously wounded a businesswoman here while she was visiting a family-owned restaurant in nearby Tantangan town in South Cotabato Thursday.The shooting occurred in Barangay New Iloilo, Tantangan town shortly before 12 noon Thursday.Jenna Co, 45, owner of Jennah Hardware and Auto Supply and a resident of Morrow Street, this city, sustained a gunshot wound in her neck from cal. 45 pistol.She was rushed by restaurant workers to Doctors Clinic and Hospital inKoronadal City, about 10 kilometers from the crime scene.Responding police officers recovered one empty shell for cal. 45 pistol beside the driver side of Co’s Toyota RAV4 vehicle parked along the national highway, Senior Inspector Johnrick Medel, Tantangan police chief, said.Jun, the victim's brother said shehad visited thefamily-owned restaurant to check on the on-going construction when the incident happened.She had just disembarked from the car when one of the two suspects on board a passing motorbike opened fire on her.Police are still investigating to determine the motive and identities of the attackers.
