TACURONG
CITY -- Tourists, locals, bird watchers and enthusiasts are all
invited to this year’s celebration of wildlife conservation in the City
Goodwill—the 2nd Tacurong Bird Festival on May 28-29.

The
festival will take place at the city’s its very own Baras Bird Sanctuary.

The
Festival hopes to make aware locals and tourists about the importance of birds
in the environment, encouraging them to take the pledge of conserving natural
habitats such as the Baras Bird Sanctuary.

Aside
from awareness forum and guided bird tours in the Sanctuary, there will be a
Photo Contest, a Bird Costume Contest, a Coloring Contest, and the Art Attack.

Art
Attack is composed of various activities such as face painting, key holder
painting, origami, bottle recycling, coloring, and ball cap making.

Festival
rates are Php100 for adults and Php80 for students or children. These rates are
inclusive of entrance fee, bird watching with tour guide, use of kudong (head
gear), and access to all Art Attack
activities.

Those
who would only want to visit the Sanctuary without joining the activities will
only have to pay the standard entrance fee of Php20.

The
City Government and the Department of Tourism XII will tap tourist policemen
and women and tourist drivers in the area to make the experience more
convenient.
