South Cotabato's Divine Mercy Statue, a destination this holy week
LAKE SEBU, South Cotabato- A sprawling four hectare land located uphill in the Sub-village of Floren, Lamdalag here is now becoming popular not only to tourists but also to those who want to commune with God.
The Divine Mercy Retreat House and Statue was built as a vow when a loved one of its owner was healed miraculously from an illness.
With its 45-meter statue of the Divine Mercy, a well maintained garden and beautiful landscape, the place is serene and creating an ambiance for prayer and is now a sanctuary for pilgrims.
It is a beautiful place to visit for to those who want to relax, reflect, and be closer to God.
Jesus Esquillo, Divine Retreat House and Statue assistant manager, said the place was flocked by tourists, most of them devotees of the Divine Mercy since it was opened to the public a year ago.
”There are people who keep on coming back here because their prayers to the Divine Mercy where answered,” Esquillo said.The Lamdalag Divine Mercy Sanctuary has also a retreat house that can accommodate up to 200 guests and a chapel.
The place also welcomes other religion.
It is here were one can have abird's eye view of the beautiful and mysteriousLake Sebu.
The holy place which is located some 5-6 kilometer away from the town proper can be reach by all types of vehicles.Commuting public can utilized the more popular Habal Habal” (passenger motorbikes)for quicker moves andreasonable fare.
