COTABATO CITY
(Feb. 15) – Give love and gets love in return.

With this in
mind, a team of soldiers of the 6th Infantry Division spread” love
to seniors, children and anybody they met outside the Immaculate Concepcion
Cathedral in Cotabato City on Valentines’ Day.

With the theme
Pusong Handog ng Kampilan para sa Mamamayan,” soldiers in complete uniform
braved the scorching sun to give flowers, balloons and candies to civilians who
attended the Sunday’s masses.

ID, in a statement, said the activity simply aimed to express the spirit of
love to the community they are serving, including the people of Cotabato.

Residents and
Churchgoers, initially expressed surprise to see men in uniform just outside
the cathedral on Valentine’s Day.

To their
surprise, the soldiers were not on security works but were spreading love
through flowers and tokens.

It was an act
of giving importance and appreciation to the mothers, the wive and the daughters
who inspire and bring warmth to every family,” a soldier who asked not to be
named, said.

Flowers were also given to Mass president, Monsignor Tony Pueyo, DCC. sand//fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfl1/v/t1.0-9/12743550_1183305878364395_4184417049476853641_n.jpg?oh=18724ed9a721acb120d3224db4ac20feandampoe=575D61D9andamp__gda__=1462967452_c6595d17088332c747c5bfeb7c3f817f Around 200
women, children and elderly (including men) were given the simple gifts and flowers. They all smile as they left the church compound
to celebrate Valentine’s day elsewhere.

The soldiers
vow to serve the people of Central Mindanao in as many ways possible. It will
not limit itself to traditional mandate but exert efforts to break barriers and
boundaries in order to reach the hearts of the people it serves.

It was a Happy
Valentine’s Day indeed! (Ferdinandh Cabrera) sand//scontent-hkg3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/12717467_1183306888364294_4906206219864338386_n.jpg?oh=c02716fa2358c0d5b58dbb0efe4507c4andampoe=572A4E42
