5 South Cotabato employees are illegal drug users

KORONADAL CITY - South Cotabato Gov. Daisy Avance Fuentes yesterday revealed that five employees, two of them in permanent status, have been hooked to illegal drugs.At a news conference, Fuentes did not identify the workers but said actions have been taken against them, including counselling.She said employees of one department have complained of strange attitude of an employee inside the office due to illegal drug use. Counselling program has been given to the worker, to no avail.Two Job Order employees have been dismissed while two others are undergoing dismissal proceedings.During the launching of provincial drug abuse control and prevention week, Fuentes said random drug testing has been on going among provincial employees.In August, an employee of the provincial engineering office was arrested and eventually charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act.
