1 hurt as speeding Isuzu pick-up collides with Weena bus in Libungan

LIBUNGAN, North Cotabato - A speeding black Isuzu D-max collided head on with equally speeding Weena Bus along the national highway here Wednesday morning which left one critically injured, police said.Chief Inspector Rommel Constantino, Libungan police chief, told DXMS Radyo Bida the incident happened along the national highway in Barangay Baguer at past 5:30 a.m.Injured was Rommel Rene Santos, 40 of Bajada, Davao City and driver of the ill-fated black Isuzu pick up vehicle.Constantino said initial investigation showed that Santos was driving his black Isuzu pick-up with license plateLGC-438 heading toward Cotabato City when it sideswiped a speeding mini-cargo truck and collided head on with the on comingWeena Bus.The Isuzu pick-up was a total wreak.I took sometime for rescuers to pull out Santos from the driver seat of the pick-up vehicle. He sustained serious hip injury and was rushed to Davao City.Constantino said Weena Bus driver Tasrudin Molawo, 38 of Barangay Layog, Pagalungan, Maguindanao voluntarily surrendered to police.Constantino reminded motorists to limit speed along portion of Cotabato-Davao highway, particularly from Barangay Baguer to Poblacion Libungan. The more or less 10 kilometer stretch was a two way straight lane, thus many vehicles were speeding in the area.
