Cops identify couple killed in Datu Odin Sinsuat highway

SINSUAT, Maguindanao – Police authorities here have identified the couple killed by still unidentified gunmenalong a highway here Thursday afternoon.Senior Insp. Lindsy Sinsuat, Datu Odin Sinsuat town police chief, identified the victims asMantil Sangkad and his wife Noriha, both residents of SPDA Village, also in Datu Odin Sinsuat town.The couple’s 7-year-old
child who was riding with them in the motorcycle at the time of the shooting escaped
unhurt.
Sinsuat said the couple
were heading for home at 2:45 p.m. from Barangay Dalican when gunmen on board a
four wheel vehicle opened fire using cal. 45 pistol as the victims were approaching an isolated portion ofBarangay Pingguiaman, also in Datu Odin town.Quoting
witnesses, Sinsuat said the wife was hit first and fell from the
motorbike. Then the gunmen, still on
board a car, also shot Sangcad despite his appeal to spare him.
Police theorized the motive of the
attack could be personal grudge, police said.
Villagers
nearby took custody of the child and later turned him over to responding police
