DOE extends medical help to Makilala health station

MAKILALA,
North Cotabato – The health station of Barangay Batasan here
have received essential medical equipment and assorted medicine from the
Department of Energy (DOE), officials said today.
The
medical equipment consisting of examination table, doopler, delivery cart,
delivery table, sterilizer, stainless dressing carts, dressing tray and many
others were donated by the DOE Reforestation Watershed Management, Health and
Environment Enhancement Fund (RWMHEEF).
Aside
from medical equipment, the health station was also the recipient various medicines
such as amoxicillin, cefalexin, cotrimoxazole, ascorbic acid tablets and
syrups, multi-vitamin, paracetamol, mefenamic acid, carbocistine and other
kinds of medicines from DOE.
Village
chair Benjie Bangot said the medical equipment costs Php217,954 while the
medicines cost Php533,026.75 or a total donations of P750,980.75 from the
RWMHEEF.
Village
officials, Dr. Eva Rabaya of Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), Jessie
Enid, Provincial Focal Person on Heath and Legal Matters and Jomar Campo,
Community Affairs Officer III of the Provincial Governor’s Office-Public
Affairs Assistance Tourism and Development Division were present to witness the
turn over.
The
modern health station was recently turned over by North Cotabato Gov. Emmylou
Mendoza to the village officials.
Mendoza
said the health station was constructed through the royalty share of the provincial
government from the Mt. Apo Geothermal Project (M1 and M2) of the Energy
Development Corporation (EDC).
The
health station built in Barangay Batasan will help meet the health as well as
medical needs of the villagers. The equipment and medicines they obtained will
enhance the competence of local health providers to serve the community,” said Mendoza.
Makilala
Municipal Mayor Rudy S. Caoagdan said the Local Government Unit of Makilala
supports the administration of Mendoza in its endeavor to bring the government
closer to the people by giving the basic services they deserved.
We
aim to provide every village in Makilala essential services like health
stations,” Caoagdan said.
