Wanted man resisted arrest, is shot dead
KORONADAL CITY
– For resisting arrest, a man wanted for murder and frustrated murder was killed by police operatives in Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat over the weekend.
Police operatives,
led by Senior Inspector Sherwin Maglana, Lutayan police, and police elements
from Tampakan, South Cotabato and provincial police intelligence agents went to
the suspect’s house in Barangay Palavilla, Lutayan to serve the warrant of
arrest.
But Johnny
Gulae, resident of Sitio Tanansang, Barnagay Palavilla, resisted arrest and
shot it out with the law enforcers.
In a report,
the Tampakan PNP investigation revealed that the joint arresting team arrived
the suspect’s home and introduced themselves as police officers to effect the
arrest.
However, Gulae
opted to shoot it out with the lawmen using his cal. 38 revolver that resulted
to his death.
Police also recovered
from the area one fragmentation grenade.
Gulae has a standing
warrant of arrest for murder and frustrated murder.
He was also
identified as leader of a bandit group that committed shootings and ambuscade
of innocent residents and farmers within the tri-boundaries of Tampakan, South
Cotabato, Columbio, Sultan Kudarat and Kiblawan Davao Del Sur.
